Overview

To successfully transfer maps from TOPO! State Series or Weekend Explorer, TOPO! users must upgrade to version 4.5.0. This is a free upgrade for any TOPO! user running version 4.0 or higher. TOPO! users running version 2.6 to 3.x can install Version 4 found on the CD that comes with their Triton unit.

Listed below are step by step directions for downloading and installing Version 4.5.0

Step-by-Step

1. Download the TOPO! v4.5.0 update from our Website

2. When prompted save the download to a location that's easy to access - for example your desktop.

3. Once the download is complete, run the Installer by double-clicking it. Note for Windows Vista: Depending on your PC configuration and user settings you may need to run this installer "As an Administrator". To do so, Right Click on the Installer Package and choose the "Run as Administrator" option.

4. When prompted install the update to your existing TOPO! folder. This is most likely located in your "Program Files" folder unless you installed it in a custom location.

5. The onscreen prompts will notify you when the installation is completed.

If you have desktop shortcuts setup for TOPO! ensure they are pointing to the newly updated application. Upon launching Version 4.4.3 the Magellan Triton will be set as your default GPS receiver. If you use another GPS model besides the Magellan Triton you can adjust this in the GPS Preferences menu.

To verify you are running Version 4.5.0 browse to the Info Menu / About TOPO!.
