Overview
The TOPO! Explorer desktop application enables users of TOPO! State Series and TOPO! Weekend Explorer to retain use of the maps they have previously purchased, by activating them in the new application. Upon doing so users can zoom into and browse any of the topographic map levels/areas included with their other TOPO! titles. These maps will not be read off the original CDs but instead streamed via download, and cached for use offline. Note that aerial and hybrid imagery is not included in this process as these layers were not contained with the other titles. They can be added with the purchase of SuperQuads using map credits.
Step-by-Step
- Activating a TOPO! State Series or Weekend Explorer title is simple. For users with TOPO! State Series or Weekend Explorer versions 4.0 or higher - simply locate the unique serial TOPO! serial number sticker attached to your CD case.
- Next, login to TOPO! Explorer and navigate to the My Purchases Tab in your account page.
- Click the add a serial number link and enter the TOPO! serial number exactly as entered. Follow the on screen prompts to complete the installation.
- Your activated states will appear in the Maps list on the left navigation bar as a seperate tab from your SuperQuads.
For users with TOPO! State Series products prior to 4.0 that do not have a serial number, send an email to NatGeoMaps
Be sure to include the product you wish to activate, and the PN # located on the front of Disc one.
