Overview
This article provides step-by-step directions on how to download a Trip File from the TOPO! Explorer website and then view and edit its contents in the desktop application. Note that if you wish to edit a Trip File that you have already posted to the website you will use the same processes described below.
Step-by-Step
1. Launch the TOPO! Explorer application and Login. You must be connected to the internet for this operation.
2. Click the "Explore TOPO.COM" link in the TOPO.COM bucket on the left navigation-bar
3. Browse the online maps and navigate to the Trip File you wish to download.
4. Select the "Add to Library" option in the top-right corner of the Trip Page. This will download the Trip to your Library.
5. Navigate to your Library (left navigation-bar) and to the Trips section.
6. Locate the Trip you just downloaded and click its name
7. Next choose to open this trip, it's contents will appear in the Trip bucket on the left navigation-bar.
Now that the Trip is downloaded and opened you can use the tools from the tool bar to add new routes, waypoints, labels, photos and more. Should you wish to save or share the edited file select the "share/save" option from the bottom of the Trip bucket on the left navigation-bar.
